And then come back in, okay?
New Pilot (I’m Watching): Veep.
Centers on former Senator Selina Meyer who finds being Vice President of the United States is nothing like she expected and everything everyone ever warned about. Starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott, etc. (IMDb)
May is easily my least favorite month because of three things:
(1) It’s the summer break, and for the past almost 20 years, unlike them normal kids I always disliked not being in school. I was always the studying, schoolwork-loving type.
(2) It’s summer and because of our proximity to the dang equator the heat gets very hellish: it’s totally unbearable. And I despise that effing physiologic function called sweating, except maybe if it’s a result of exercise. Plus what’s fucking ironic is the May showers mostly come in the evening when there’s no more sun so we still have to endure the heat during daytime.
(3) I’ve been a TV junkie since I started college (and I blame it for my plummeting academic performance, but hey I regret nothing!) and for some reason unknown I have a knack for liking those American shows with lackluster ratings, which means there’s always that unnerving possibility they would get the axe from their money-hungry networks. And the month of May means it’s the time of the year to fill their programming calendar with the shows they’re picking up, a process that incites much agitation and apprehension to your regular TV junkie such as myself.
Jessica Lange & Evan Peters are still in it! Yay!
EDIT: So there’s this piece of news about Adam Levine joining the cast. What’s up with that? o_O
Anyone who knows (1) how to pronounce his last name; and (2) what TV show he’s from is in for the laugh. Classic comedy show this one.
Didn’t recognize Howard there. He looks like a smooth millionaire preppy, far from the desperado douche we see on TV. Also, Raj looks weirdly thin.
So I completely forgot neglected to fanblog about my third most favorite TV show ever (next to Lost and Community), which is outrageous. (Please don’t kill me Dexter!) So Imma catch up watching and fanblogging this summer, because it’s just a ridiculously good show!
On a side note, IMHO Showtime makes the most interesting TV shows of all networks. Proof of that is my summer catch-up list: (1) The Big C; (2) Nurse Jackie; (3) Weeds; and of course, (4) Dexter. And I’m also about to start Lisa Kudrow’s Web Therapy, so there’s that.
Funny, I wonder if they’re good friends in real life. Anyway, I must marathon all seasons this summer, it’s wonderful how much medical stuff I pick up from watching this.
Instead of studying for next week’s dreadful exams, I started watching a new TV sitcom today. Happy Endings revolves around the lives of six friends living in Chicago. Dealing with the breakup of the couple that first brought them all together, the group is left in an awkward position of either trying to stay together as friends or having to choose sides.
The humor is fresh, the lines are witty, the situations are my brand of comic, and the cast is very endearing. Plus points for Elisha Cuthbert being pretty and the Penny character is just loveable. Overall it’s a very promising show methinks could be a regular part of my weekly comedy regimen.
Comeback Series This Summer For Which I’m Excited For #01: Nurse Jackie!
This season the nurse becomes the patient!
This will remain unmatched forever. I need a new sci-fi/thriller drama series in my life; pity nothing good’s come up as of late.
