When You Were Young | The Killers | Sam’s Town (2006)
He doesn’t look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentleman like you imagined
When you were young
— Conor Oberst,Sept. 2002 (via wallyflower)
Great acts, each and every one. Even the others I haven’t tried, I’m sure.
Among the above, personal favorites are The Drums, The Black Keys, Radiohead, The Temper Trap, and Vampire Weekend - fine, even a bit Sia. And of course, how can anyone leave off The Beatles?
Inspired to make my own “fave acts” board. Maybe next week.
Islands | The xx | xx (2009)
Indie Britpop = perfect.
Portions For Foxes | Rilo Kiley | More Adventurous (2004)
If there’s one thing most commendable about Grey’s Anatomy is that it has a very superb soundtrack, which proved integral in my love for music’s formative years. Today I owe most of the indie/alternative acts I love from the artists they frequently showcase; for example, Rilo Kiley.
Let’s Go Surfing | The Drums | Summertime! (2009)
I wanna learn how to surf. Actually, I just want to go to the beach or swim in the pool everyday because the weather’s sweltering these days it’s making me crankier than my usual. But I do really wanna learn how to surf.
Do my music preferences make me a hipster? I just love indie music, tha’s all…
World Spins Madly On | The Weepies | Say I Am You (2006)
More from The Weepies.
Everything that I said I’d do
Like make the world brand new
And take the time for you
I just got lost and slept right through the dawn
And the world spins madly on
Hideaway | The Weepies | Hideaway (2008)
Don’t The Weepies make awesome music? To be married and make beautiful music together, such is the life. What is it with these indie duos, the likes of The Postal Service, The Ting Tings and Tegan and Sara?

Mark Hoppus, on his son’s music taste (via r0und-here)
I wouldn’t call myself a hipster, but I find the boy as one with good taste; those are some really cool indie bands. Though Blink-182 and the 90’s-early 2000s music scene’s rad, too. I could listen to that era all day.
